Compulsory Basic Training CBT (Compulsory Basic Training) is not a test, and there is no exam it is a system which ensures that all riders have the ability to ride to a minimum standard of safety and competence. Starting with advice on all aspects of riding, our course will take you through off road riding skills and will end with at least two hours of on road training. You do not have to complete a theory test for this training, the highway code will be covered to assess your general road knowledge. Current law allows a 16 year old to ride up to 50cc once a CBT course has been completed. A 17 year old can ride up to 125cc with L plates, once a CBT course has been completed. To ride a bigger bike, or to ride without L plates a rider must pass a theory test and one of two practical tests.Cost of course £115:00 All courses are available with a choice of either Standard (125cc) or Direct Access (500cc) tests in mind. Our 4/5 day Direct Access Course will always start on a 125cc. Your qualified instructor will ensure that the step up to a 500cc will be timed according to your rate of progress. Riders attending any other Direct Access Courses can expect to be riding a 500cc machine throughout training. The machines that are supplied FREE OF CHARGE are all modern Japanese bikes which are maintained to the highest standard.
